The name\, inspired by a childhood nickname\, reflects her bicultural roots. \nHer 2017 debut\, Gruñona\, earned spots on Chicago Magazine’s “10 Best Chicago Albums of 2017” and Chicago Reader’s “Best Chicago Albums of the Decade.” Her sophomore album\, Force to Reckon\, explores love\, loss\, and self-discovery with lush arrangements and poetic lyricism. Songs like “Afraid of Horses” and “Transitive Property” mix introspection with humor. Known for her powerful performances\, Half Gringa delivers an unforgettable live show. Don’t miss her at Main Library!\n\n\nLive at the Library\, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s free monthly concert series\, welcomes five singer-songwriters from the Midwest and Canada this spring and summer. The lineup features Lucy Kaplansky\, Half Gringa\, Joshua Davis\, Julian Taylor\, and Miss Emily. Live at the Library invites performing artists to take center stage in the Main Library Atrium as they tour the country.
