DESCRIPTION:The 52nd Annual Old West End Festival is a two-day event celebrating one of the largest historic districts in the country! You can expect live music\, multiple food markets\, a beer garden\, house tours\, shopping\, The King Wamba Carnival Parade and much more. \nThe festival starts on Friday at 9 PM with the Glow Roll where bikes and golf carts can cruise through the Old West End. \nThen start your Saturday with the 5K Run check-in at 7:30 AM\, the race begins at 8:45 AM\, followed by The King Wamba Carnival Parade beginning at 10 AM. Celebrating its 116th year\, the parade kicks off the weekend with art cars\, floats\, performance art\, and music from artists across the Midwest. The Toledo Museum of Art’s front steps will host the coronation of King Wamba (Dave Kosmyna)\, and Queen Sancha (Christine Palmer).  \nTour 5 Historic Homes and enjoy FREE LAND BANK HOUSE TOURS at 624 Delaware Ave. and 614 Virginia Ave. \nExplore the Art Fair on the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion grounds and The Marketplace on Woodruff Ave. You can also enjoy the food and live entertainment at 3 locations and a Beer Garden at the Agnes Reynolds Jackson Arboretum. Garage & Yard Sales will also span the entire Old West End. There will also be children’s activities near the Marketplace\, Art Fair\, and Glenwood Park (located at Robinwood @ Collins St.) including Toledo Metroparks and TMA programs. \nThe Glenwood Park Bazaar “Ribs + Jazz\, Rhythm & Blues\,” the best Backyard Bar-B-Q Ribs and classic R & B & Jazz music at the festival! Located across from Glenwood School there will be activities for children and adults including line dancing\, open mic karaoke\, smooth oldies music with live entertainment\, and more! \nThey will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food and hygiene items to the Equality Toledo Community Pantry; donation boxes will be located at info booths. DESCRIPTION:Bring a lawn chair and relax to the sounds of ragtime\, bluegrass\, Irish music and other genres this summer during the Verandah Concert series at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. The popular concerts take place twice a month on Wednesdays on the verandah of the historic home of 19th U.S. President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes. Admission is free. \nEach event begins with an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m. Donations can be made for the ice cream but are not required. SUMMARY:Marsh Madness 10k
DESCRIPTION:Come on out and run a unique race at the 1\,000 acre Howard Marsh Metropark and then enjoy some post-race kayaking or canoeing. In the 10K race\, you’ll enjoy a flat\, fast course on the gravel trails atop the dikes that enclose the marsh. You’ll run along marsh waters that are home to unique plants\, many types of birds\, and lots of other wildlife. After the race\, you can launch your kayak or canoe and paddle the marsh’s 8 plus miles of aquatic trails for a complete “marshy” experience. Rental kayaks will also be available from the Metroparks. And whether you’re a birder or not\, don’t forget your binoculars.\n\nAwards in the 10K will be given to the Male and Female Overall\, Masters\, Grand Masters\, and Senior Grand Masters winners and will consist of a unique marsh-themed sun catcher and gift card from Second Sole running store. All finishers will receive a wood slice finisher medal and giveaway. There will be no age group awards.\n\nIn order to reduce trash and to protect the marsh from extraneous litter\, the race will not use paper cups. Runners can A) carry a handheld water bottle or wear a hydration vest or B) can carry a reusable\, collapsible cup to be filled at the water station. Collapsible cups will be made available to runners at packet pick-up. The water station will be located at approximately 3.3 and 5.7 miles and water pitchers and volunteers will be available to fill cups.\n\nThe Marsh Madness 10K is the first race in the Toledo Roadrunners-Metroparks Toledo Trail Race Series. The other three races are the Towpath Trail 10K and Half Marathon at Providence Dam Metropark on July 20\, the Oak Openings Stampede 5K and 25K at Oak Openings Metropark on September 14\, and Falling Leaves 5K and 8-miler at Secor Metropark on October 26.

SUMMARY:Verandah Concert Series at Hayes Presidential Library & Museums
DESCRIPTION:Bring a lawn chair and relax to the sounds of ragtime\, bluegrass\, Irish music and other genres this summer during the Verandah Concert series at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. The popular concerts take place twice a month on Wednesdays on the verandah of the historic home of 19th U.S. President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes. Admission is free. \nEach event begins with an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m. Donations can be made for the ice cream but are not required. Performances start at 7 p.m. \nThe 2025 Verandah Concert schedule is: \n\nJune 11 – Matthew Ball\, The Boogie Woogie Kid\, playing boogie piano music\nJune 25 – Bridge County Bluegrass Band\nJuly 9 – Toraigh\, playing Irish music\nJuly 23 – Ragtime Rick & The Chefs of Dixieland\nAug. 6  – Terra Brass Choir\nAug. 20 – North Coast Big Band\, performing toe-tapping tunes of the World War II era\n\nVerandah Concerts are sponsored by Fremont Federal Credit Union. Additional funding by Promedica Memorial Hospital. \nIf there is inclement weather\, concerts could be canceled.
