SUMMARY:Live at the Library with Julian Taylor
DESCRIPTION:Toledo Lucas County Public Library welcomes all to our concert series\, Live at the Library\, a series featuring musical talent as they tour the country. This month\, we welcome singer-songwriter Julian Taylor. \nJulian Taylor is a celebrated singer-songwriter whose music weaves together soul\, folk\, rock\, and storytelling in a way that resonates deeply with listeners. With more than 25 years in the music industry\, his career is a testament to perseverance\, creativity\, and authenticity. Taylor’s journey began with the alt-rock band Staggered Crossing\, whose hit “Further Again” became a defining track of the early 2000s. After the band’s disbandment\, Julian re-emerged as a solo artist and leader of the Julian Taylor Band\, delivering fan-favorite albums like Tech Noir and Desert Star\, which showcased his genre-blending mastery.\nHis breakthrough moment as a solo artist came with his 2020 album The Ridge\, a stunning acoustic collection that earned two JUNO Award nominations\, a Polaris Music Prize nod\, and the Canadian Folk Music Award for Solo Artist of the Year. Critics praised its heartfelt lyrics and warm\, soulful vocals\, which offered comfort and connection during challenging times. Taylor’s 2022 album Beyond the Reservoir continued his trajectory\, exploring themes of resilience and growth with a richly layered sound. It received acclaim with additional JUNO\, Native American Music Award\, and Ontario Folk Music Award nominations\, cementing his place as one of Canada’s most distinctive voices.\nWith his heartfelt music and magnetic stage presence\, Julian Taylor creates an unforgettable live experience. He is thrilled to join us at Main Library to meet and perform for the Toledo audience!\n\n\nLive at the Library\, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s free monthly concert series\, welcomes five singer-songwriters from the Midwest and Canada this spring and summer. The lineup features Lucy Kaplansky\, Half Gringa\, Joshua Davis\, Julian Taylor\, and Miss Emily. Live at the Library invites performing artists to take center stage in the Main Library Atrium as they tour the country. The concerts are free and open to the public. \nAdvance registration is encouraged but not required to attend Live at the Library performances. Visit toledolibrary.org/music to register.
